The Bogotá International Sacred Music Festival (FIMSAC) is an annual, multireligious music event—unique in Latin America—founded in 2012 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council. Its mission is to promote unity, interreligious dialogue, respect for diverse beliefs, a culture of peace, and reconciliation among peoples through sacred music from different styles, eras, and religions.
Held each year between September and October, FIMSAC brings together more than 750 artists from 20 countries across over 30 venues in Bogotá. Its program features 50 events, including soloists, ensembles, orchestras, and professional choirs from all five continents.
In recognition of its cultural impact, the Festival was named one of Colombia’s 100 events of national interest by the Government in 2024. It has also been designated as a Metropolitan Project of Bogotá and was recently awarded the Honorary Plaque of the Order of Isabella the Catholic by King Felipe VI of Spain.
The Festival is organized by Corporación Cultural InterColombia, a nonprofit organization founded in 1997 to promote the arts and culture in all their forms. Its mission is to foster national and international relationships through activities such as concerts, festivals, and competitions that enhance quality of life and social harmony.
WORDS FROM THE DIRECTOR

The Bogotá International Sacred Music Festival is an opportunity to open our hearts and show the world that, although we are all different, we share something in common: love and respect for the sacred.
It is an invitation to everyone to remember, to share, to understand, and to learn from one another—to set aside our differences and come together. To uplift our spirits through sacred music. To delight in the harmonies and melodies that reflect each culture, each tradition, each story.
This initiative, organized and promoted by Corporación Cultural InterColombia, seeks to offer and contribute a lasting cultural benefit to the world, fostering change, tolerance, and peace.
